Stock Photo - 19 September 2018, Saxony, Naundorf: Using a specially developed harvesting machine, a farmer harvests cannabis, recorded with a drone. Medical cannabis is cultivated here by Mariplant, a subsidiary of the Canadian manufacturer Maricann, on an area of over 170 hectares. Of the plants, which can reach heights of up to five metres, only the tips of the flowers are used for the time being. The active ingredient cannabidiol (CBD) is extracted and sold as a dietary supplement in the form of capsules. Maricann plans to expand the cultivation to up to 1000 hectares. The harvest is processed in the newly built company headquarters nearby. The THC content of this plant is low. Photo: Jan Woitas/dpa-Zentralbild/dpa. - Naundorf/Saxony/Germany
