From the bottom of the lake in the New Garden, eelgrass plants had detached themselves over an area of about 13,000 square metres, which were then driven to the shore by the wind. The phenomenon already existed in previous years, but not to this extent. Before the plants die, decompose and endanger the water ecosystem, the green carpet must be removed. An amphibian vehicle from Wasser und Kulturbau Leegebruch GmbH has been in operation on the east bank since the morning to remove the plants.
