Stock Photo - 20 January 2020, Thuringia, Gotha: Knut Kreuch (l-r), Lord Mayor of the royal seat Gotha and Deputy Chairman of the Foundation Schloss Friedenstein Gotha, Bodo Ramelow (Die Linke), Prime Minister of Thuringia, and Babette Winter, State Secretary for Culture and Europe, Chairwoman of the Foundation Schloss Friedenstein Gotha, are sitting on the podium in a press conference. After their theft about 40 years ago, five top-class paintings are being shown again in Gotha. The pictures were considered lost after the mysterious theft in 1979. In 2018 they were offered for sale through a lawyer of the Stiftung Schloss Friedenstein. In September 2019 the works were finally handed over. Now, after completion of investigations into their authenticity and condition, they can be seen for a week. Photo: Martin Schutt/dpa-Zentralbild/dpa. - Gotha/Thuringia/Germany
