Stock Photo - 21 February 2020, Berlin: The statue ""Saint Mary Magdalene"" by the Renaissance artist Andrea della Robbia, who came from Florence. The statue was initially returned from Italy to Germany as Nazi looted property. After clarifying the last open questions regarding the right to inherit, the figure is to be restituted to the rightful heirs. The statue was once owned by the Munich Kunsthaus A. S. Drey. The Jewish owners were persecuted by the Nazis. For this reason they had to close the Kunsthaus in 1936 and auction off the collection. In 1941 the figure was sold by an Italian to NS Reichsmarschall Hermann Göring. In 1954 the work was given to Italy by mistake. Minister of State for Culture Grütters received the statue in Berlin from the Italian Minister of Culture Franceschini. Photo: Carsten Koall/dpa. - Berlin/Berlin/Germany
