Stock Photo - 21 July 2020, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Schwerin: The Lenin monument in the Mueßer Holz development area, which is supported by wooden planks, is currently being given a new base. The city administration had decided to renew the area as well as an information board after the monument was damaged several times. The sculpture of the former Soviet leader, created by the Estonian sculptor Jaak Soans, was unveiled in 1985 in Schwerin's prefabricated concrete slab district on the occasion of the 825th anniversary of the fall of Schwerin and is today considered one of the last Lenin monuments in Western Europe.
