Stock Photo - 21 May 2019, Berlin: Jeremy Issacharoff (l), Israel's Ambassador to Germany, and David Blumberg, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Library of Israel, look at documents from Max Brod's (1884-1968) private archive at the Israeli Ambassador's residence. About 5000 pages from the Brods estate were smuggled from Israel to Germany about ten years ago, where they were confiscated in 2015. They are to be kept in Israel's National Library in the future. The manuscripts, including unpublished passages from Brod's diary and early correspondence between Brod and his wife, could provide further insight into the life of Franz Kafka (1883-1924).
