Stock Photo - 21 May 2019, Berlin: Peter Henzler (l-r), Vice President of the Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA), presents Jeremy Issacharoff, Israel's Ambassador to Germany, and David Blumberg, Chairman of the Administrative Council of the National Library of Israel, with about 5000 pages from the private archive of Max Brod (1884-1968) in the residence of the Israeli Ambassador. The documents were smuggled from Israel to Germany about ten years ago, where they were confiscated in 2015. They are to be kept in Israel's National Library in the future. The manuscripts, including unpublished passages from Brod's diary and early correspondence between Brod and his wife, could provide further insight into the life of Franz Kafka (1883-1924).
