Stock Photo - 21 October 2020, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Zietlitz: Employees of the Goldbecksolar company are currently building a solar park in a former opencast gravel mine on 75 hectares. The energy provider Wemag AG is having around 190,000 photovoltaic modules installed on an area of more than 120 football pitches. Once completed, the park will supply the energy requirements of a city with 21,000 households. Together with the Evangelical Church of Württemberg, Wemag is investing around 45 million euros in the project, which is to be connected to the grid at the end of 2020.
