In spring 2020, construction work for the large-scale project began here. Almost 26 kilometres northeast of Berlin, near Werneuchen (Barnim) in Brandenburg, EnBW is building the ""Weesow-Willmersdorf"" solar park on an area of 164 hectares with an installed capacity of 187 megawatts. According to its own statements, it is to become Germany's largest solar park without subsidies. With the 180 million kilowatt hours generated annually from it, it is calculated that around 50,000 households can be supplied in an environmentally friendly manner and around 129,000 tonnes of CO2 avoided annually. The entire project is scheduled to be commissioned before the end of 2020. Photo: Patrick Pleul/dpa-Zentralbild/ZB. - Werneuchen/Brandenburg/Germany
