In this more than 100-year-old craft technique, chip by chip is cut from a turned lime wood blank with specially ground chisels. The chip tree engraving is a handicraft art, which is mastered in the Erzgebirge region by only very few specialists. Like nutcracker, smoking man and pyramid the chip tree belongs to the Erzgebirge Christmas. And it is not only in this region that the trees in various sizes decorate the living rooms.
