Stock Photo - 22 February 2023, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Ludwigslust: Ludwigslust Palace is partially scaffolded during restoration work in the west wing. (Aerial photo taken with a drone) The state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania has so far invested around 35 million euros in the castle, which was built between 1772 and 1776, since 1992, thus enabling the extensive restoration of the building. Over the next few years, the west wing will be renovated with over 19 million euros. In addition to structural reinforcement, the historic interior with chandeliers, mirrors, fireplaces, wall coverings, stuccowork and the papier mché typical of Ludwigslust will be restored.
