Stock Photo - 22 February 2023, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Ludwigslust: Parts of the Golden Hall, richly decorated with gilded papier-mache, can be seen in Ludwigslust Palace. The hall is being restored at a cost of around six million euros so that it can shine in its former glory in the future as part of the museum tour and at events. The state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania has invested around 35 million euros in the castle, which was built between 1772 and 1776, since 1992, thus making the extensive restoration of the building possible. Until spring 2024, the west wing will be renovated with more than 19 million euros. In addition to structural reinforcement, the historic interior with chandeliers, mirrors, fireplaces, wall coverings, stuccowork and the papier mché typical of Ludwigslust will be restored.
