The father of a daughter (29) spent 22 years in prison, according to his own statement. He's currently dry and off the drugs thanks to the substitute drug Subutex. He prefers to sleep on the street or in empty houses, in the official accommodations there is always trouble, fights, alcohol problems and thefts. Over the winter, the city of Mainz has set up residential containers for the homeless at Fort Hauptstein near the main railway station.
