The installation on the lake near Leipzig celebrates its tenth anniversary on Wednesday. The structure on the post-mining lake serves as a memorial to the 14 places that had to make way for the Espenhain open-cast mine. One of them was Magdeborn. The shape of the ""Vineta"" is based on the church tower of this dredged village. Today, the ""Vineta"" is a tourist destination and also a popular and unusual place for wedding ceremonies.
