The Berlin Regional Court had sentenced two men to life in prison for murder after an illegal car race. The BGH must now decide on the appeal. The men had engaged in an illegal car race on the Kurfürstendamm at night. As they raced over an intersection at a red light, one of them rammed a car coming out of a side street at 160 to 170 kilometers per hour. The driver died.
