Stock Photo - 23 March 2022, Rhineland-Palatinate, Rech: Advisor Olena Kontert (l)..talks to a flood victim at the Infopoint Hochwasser in Rech near the destroyed Nepomuk Bridge. The 26 information points in the flood area will continue to operate until the end of the year. After the July 2021 flood, which left 134 people dead, more than 750 injured and thousands of homes damaged or destroyed in the Ahr Valley, experts provided a lot of general support at the Infopoints in tents, containers and buildings. According to the district administration, however, the focus is now on tips from architects, for example on drying flood-damaged houses and on flood-adapted construction. There is also help with applications for subsidies for reconstruction.
