Stock Photo - 23 May 2019, Thuringia, Jena: Glass vessels without preparations, which are only filled with alcohol and provided with Latin names, are exhibited in the special exhibition ""10 Tons - Medusen - Ernst Haeckel"". The empty glasses represent a small side blow of the curators against Haeckel, who was always criticized by colleagues for having brought ""only"" drawings and no exhibits from his expeditions. On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the death of Ernst Haeckel, the Phyletisches Museum of the Friedrich Schiller University Jena presents this exhibition. By the end of 2020, over 200 lifelike Medusen models, original preparations, photos, videos and drawings by Ernst Haeckel, the museum's founder, will be on display in the ""Medusensaal"".
