Stock Photo - 23 May 2020, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Prora: View of a building part of block 5 in the listed complex Prora, which is still under reconstruction. The gigantic KdF seaside resort planned and partly built by the National Socialists is a listed building. The Nazi organisation Kraft durch Freude (KdF) planned a seaside resort for 20,000 people in the 1930s. It remained unfinished, holidaymakers never got there. At the beginning of the war in 1939, construction work was stopped and the buildings were used for other purposes. Rügen is the largest German island and with about 77,000 inhabitants the most populous. Photo: Jens Büttner/dpa-Zentralbild/ZB. - Prora/Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania/Germany
