The German government is supporting the ""Alike"" project for autonomously driving shuttles in public transportation in Hamburg with 26 million euros. The project will test a system of autonomous shuttles that can be booked simply by app and pick up passengers directly and take them to their destination. Up to 10,000 autonomous shuttles could be operating on Hamburg's roads in 2030, according to an agreement between the Federal Ministry of Transport and the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg.
