On May 19, 2022, after the soccer relegation match between Hertha BSC and Hamburger SV in Berlin, the man allegedly hit a Hertha fan in the face with his fist so hard that he fell to the ground without braking and hit the back of his head on the asphalt. The 55-year-old suffered a severe craniocerebral trauma and died a few days later in a hospital. The accused from Rostock must therefore answer since today for bodily injury with fatal consequence.
