Stock Photo - 24 July 2021, Saxony, Großpösna/Leipzig: Visitors let the ferry Krysta 4 take them to the ""floating church"" Vineta, a walk-in art object installed 10 years ago, on Lake Störmthal. The art object by the artist Ute Hartwig-Schulz from the Prösitz artists' estate floats on the flooded open-cast mine above the spot where the over 1,000-year-old village of Magdeborn, with its church and thousands of inhabitants, had to make way for the open-cast lignite mine around 50 years ago. With an eaves height of 15 metres, the Vineta has been the highest floating structure on a German lake for 10 years. It is used for weddings, cultural events and other occasions.
