The new scanners use modern ""3D technology"" to make screening safer and faster and much more convenient for passengers. Shortly before the Whitsun vacations, five additional CT scanners were put into operation in the security checkpoints at Munich Airport. The technology is also to be used at all Bavarian airports in the future, as the Ministry of Transport announced on Wednesday. So far, two of the devices have been in use in Munich. The scanners scan hand luggage using the computed tomography (CT) technique familiar from medicine. Photo: Angelika Warmuth/dpa. - Munich/Bavaria/Germany
