Stock Photo - 25 April 2023, Saxony-Anhalt, Schönebeck: A female white stork stands near the bank of the Elbe River in the nest on the roof of St. Lawrence Church and mends with the male white stork sitting on the eggs and incubates the nest. The male already landed there on March 11, 2023 and is there for the seventh time. The white stork had been ringed on June 24, 2013 in Bad Nauheim-Steinfurth and is therefore 10 years old. Bird experts can determine this from the number on the animal's ring. On March 23, 2023, the female white stork joined it. In the meantime, there are several eggs in the nest which are incubated continuously. Frohse is a district of the city of Schönebeck on the Elbe.
