Files on the public participation procedure for the new connection pipeline are on display at the mining office in Stralsund on the same day. The plans now published relate to the second, approximately 24-kilometer-long section of the lake from Mukran to the height of Göhren east of the island of Rügen. On the initiative of the German government, two special ships for landing LNG are to be stationed in the port of Mukran in the north of Rügen. To this end, a connecting pipeline around 50 kilometers long is to be built from Mukran to the gas hub in Lubmin in the German state of Vorpommern, where there is already a regasification ship that is to be transferred to Mukran.
