Stock Photo - 25 June 2021, Saxony, Freiberg: The molten metal for a bell for Merseburg Cathedral flows out of the melting furnace at the Saxon Metalworks in Freiberg. The occasion for the bell casting is the 1000th anniversary of the cathedral's consecration this year. The bell will weigh 890 kilograms and will sound in a single G. The tone will harmonize with the other bells in the cathedral. The tone harmonizes with the two large bells of the church. The bell is to be consecrated on 1 October. The casting was made possible by a grant of 50,000 euros from the Friede Springer Foundation. Photo: Hendrik Schmidt/dpa-Zentralbild/dpa. - Freiberg/Saxony/Germany
