The figures on the building's knags show saints, minstrels, jesters, craftsmen, drunkards and morris dancers with the May Queen. The earliest figural representations in half-timbered buildings can be found on knags. The historic town hall is currently being renovated in accordance with the preservation order. In the area of the hall, considerable vibrations of the floor were noticed. When the ceiling below was opened, it was determined that the existing construction (spacing and span of the ceiling beams) was too weak for the intended use. Therefore, a structural reinforcement of the ceiling beams is mandatory. The implementation of the necessary construction measures is to be carried out in five individual construction phases over the next five years.
