A sandbank is currently being dredged away from the access road to the Elbe ferry pier using excavators and bulldozers, and the ferry ""Amt Neuhaus"" is being repaired. A sandbank and low water prevent the operation of the Elbe ferry ""Amt Neuhaus"" in the district of Lüneburg. Since the Elbe bridge in Lauenburg is also currently being renovated and closed, motorists and bicycle tourists are currently having to take major detours.
