Archaeologists from the Saxony-Anhalt State Office for the Preservation of Monuments and Archaeology are diving in Lake Arendsee again this week to find a prahmboat that sank in the Middle Ages. According to the researchers, the oak boat dates from around 1265 . Presumably, the Prahm served to transport residents and materials of a monastery, according to archaeologists. The 12.5-meter-long and up to 2.30-meter-wide cargo ship is a unique find in northern Germany, experts say. It is not yet clear whether the boat will be lifted at some point.
