One of the slogans reads ""Lest we forget!"". During a joint commemoration event of the Brandenburg State Parliament and the memorial site, for the first time, instead of laying a wreath, a tape art action by Berlin artist Susanne Quehenberger was carried out with the question ""Why do you remember today?"". In addition to the visitors to the memorial, more than 90 people had responded to the memorial's call and had previously shared their contributions by e-mail or via the memorial's website.
