Stock Photo - 27 May 2020, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Rattey: A stork is looking for food in the newly planted vineyard at the Schloss Rattey winery in the Mecklenburg Lake District. One of the most northern wine-growing regions in Germany wants to grow significantly. Currently, seven hectares of vines are being planted - around 35,000 of them in twelve varieties. The cultivation trial will test which varieties are best able to cope with the northern German conditions such as late spring, early frost in autumn and sandy soils. So far, the winery, which was founded in 1999, cultivates almost five hectares around Rattey Castle. Photo: Jens Büttner/dpa-Zentralbild/dpa. - Rattey/Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania/Germany
