Stock Photo - 27 November 2020, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Stralsund: Employees of a moving company load the preparation of a leatherback turtle named Marlene in the yard of the Maritime Museum in Stralsund. The turtle had got lost in the Baltic Sea in 1965. It is to be shown from January in the exhibition ""Turtles. Armoured through the centuries"" in the State Natural History Museum in Braunschweig. The exhibitions are to be completely revised from 2021. The thematic focus - the world of the warm seas - and popular exhibits such as the fin whale skeleton will remain. The construction project, which is being funded 50 percent by the federal government and 50 percent by the state of MV, will cost 40 million euros. The reopening is planned for spring 2023.
