Stock Photo - 27 September 2022, Saxony-Anhalt, Köthen: Hauke Petersen, a research assistant at the University of Magdeburg, steers an autonomous cargo bike on the campus of Anhalt University of Applied Sciences in Köthen. The bike provides a foretaste of the ""Ready4Robots"" project. In June, the university, in association with nine other partners from science and industry, received notification of funding from the German Federal Ministry of Digital Affairs and Transport (BMDV) for the research project ""Ready4Robots - Multimodal Maps for Autonomous Micromobiles."" The project is to explore new standards for the mobility of the future. In the course of the project, cyclists from Köthen will collect infrastructure data that will later serve as a basis for the use of autonomous cargo bikes and delivery robots. The universities in Freiberg and Magdeburg as well as the universities of Anhalt and Merseburg are involved in the joint project, supported by partners from industry and the district of North Saxony.
