Until a few weeks ago, industry sources said that the start of Tesla production was still scheduled for July. Tesla's first-quarter annual report now says for the first time that the project is on track to begin production and deliveries ""late in 2021."" The first European factory in Grünheide, which is designed to produce 500,000 vehicles a year, is a key pillar of Tesla's future strategy.
