Stock Photo - 28 April 2021, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Pasewalk: A yellow mop hangs on the line in front of the former saloon and dining cars of the former GDR government train parked here. The railway experience centre Lokschuppen Pomerania has been closed for months due to the Corona protection measures. Visitors could marvel at railway technology with several steam and diesel locomotives on the 40,000-square-metre site with its historic engine shed dating from 1896. The locomotive shed celebrates a special anniversary in 2021: It will be 125 years old. Whether and in what form it can be celebrated depends on the further development of the pandemic. With the opening of the railway line Berlin-Angermünde-Pasewalk in 1863, Pasewalk was connected to the railway network. In January 1896, the semi-circular locomotive shed went into operation together with twelve beam tracks. Photo: Jens Büttner/dpa-Zentralbild/ZB. - Pasewalk/Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania/Germany
