The building on the southern edge of the former churchyard wall around St. Mary's Church was built between 1350 and 1400, was originally used for the care of the poor and sick and, along with the two churches, is one of the oldest preserved buildings in the city of Vorpommern. The house was run by the brotherhood of the misery, which disbanded in the 16th century. Afterwards the two-storey building was given to the parish. The miserable house has severe cracks, mainly due to the building ground, and is in urgent need of renovation. According to the parish, the entire refurbishment, for which a funding concept exists, will cost around 300,000 euros.
