Stock Photo - 28 September 2023, Saxony-Anhalt, Arendsee: Diver Andreas Trepte prepares for a dive on a boat on Lake Arendsee. Archaeologists from the Saxony-Anhalt State Office for the Preservation of Monuments and Archaeology have been investigating sites at the bottom of Lake Arendsee since September 25, 2023. A total of 20 targets are to be surveyed in high resolution and in 3D by the end of the week. Among other things, fish fences of different epochs were discovered. The Fraunhofer Institute of Optronics, Systems Engineering and Image Exploitation from the Applied Systems Engineering department in Ilmenau, the Carl Zeiss Jena company, the German Federal Agency for Technical Relief (THW) and divers from the Halle water rescue service all took part in the investigations.
