Stock Photo - 29 December 2020, Saxony-Anhalt, Halberstadt: Bizarre rock formations made of sandstone rise up in the Klusberge near Halberstadt. They contain cave rooms that were first mentioned in documents in the year 1070. According to tradition, a ""brotherhood of shepherds and shepherdesses"" was active at the ""Klusfelsen"" in the 16th century. The rock was apparently also used for religious purposes. This is indicated by a cross deeply carved into the sandstone. There are several stamping points for the Harzer Wandernadel in the Klusberge.
