The so-called Octagonal Earth-Holland Mill, built in 1830 by order of the Greiffenberg miller and baker Bernhard Heide, was in operation as a grain mill until 1938. After that the building decayed noticeably, until bltze impact, fire and a storm left only the skeleton. More than twenty years ago, after the question of ownership had been clarified, the support association began collecting donations and reconstructing the historic building. One of the first sponsors was Prince von Oettingen-Spielberg, whose commitment by donating a large load of wood was certainly also an inspiration for many other donors. The Sparkasse Uckermark with the Sparkassenstiftung, the city of Angermünde, the PCK Schwedt and many craft businesses and private donors gave and give money. In 2013 the topping-out ceremony was celebrated, in 2016 the engine was put into operation and in 2018 the first official grinding took place. Now the State Chancellery and the Ministry of Economics of the country have provided 50000 Euro from lottery funds for the construction of the wing cross of the restored mill. The last phase of the reconstruction with a rotating cap made in the Netherlands, the wing shaft and the cross with four metal wings reaching to the ground can start this year.
