Stock Photo - 29 March 2019, Saxony, Wolkenstein: Michael Löbel, falconer, holds a falcon on his arm in the falconry at the castle in Wolkenstein. Falconry is considered an example of a millennia-old cultural form and living tradition of immaterial cultural heritage that has been included on the Unesco list of the immaterial cultural heritage of mankind. The Free State of Saxony is now again calling on associations and sponsoring groups to apply for the Intangible Cultural Heritage. The fourth application round for the nationwide directory will start on 1 April. Important cultural forms for Saxony such as the cooperative idea, the Saxon boys' choirs, but also the cultivation of choral music in German amateur choirs or social customs and festivals of the Lusatian Sorbs are already on the Unesco list alongside falconry.
