Stock Photo - 29 March 2021, Saxony-Anhalt, Halle: Robots are working on a test basis in the new joint press shop of Porsche and Schuler. The two parent companies have founded Smart Press Shop GmbH for this purpose. The plant houses a state-of-the-art six-stage servo press line in which the die sets can be changed even faster using an autonomous crane system. The press itself can produce between 20-80 parts at 20 strokes per minute. From May 2022, 135 employees will initially produce body parts here for the E-Macan produced at the neighbouring Porsche plant in Leipzig. Later, parts for Bentley are planned.
