Stock Photo - 29 September 2021, Saxony, Leipzig: After sunset, guests sit in the Niemeyer sphere during a menu evening on the grounds of the ""Techne Sphere Leipzig"", where the blue sky can be seen above the glass enclosure. The 12-meter concrete and glass sphere by Brazilian star architect Oscar Niemeyer (1907-2012), which was completed in the summer of 2020, is now hosting its first celebrations and events after the long Corona break. The domed structure, with its three levels and around 150 tinted glass triangles, is attached to the top of a brick industrial building and is Niemeyer's last completed design. The Techne Sphere site is home to Kirow, the world market leader for slewing railway cranes, and HeiterBlick GmbH, a tramway builder.
