Stock Photo - 30 July 2019, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Langenwerder: A young swallow has got caught in one of the nets and is measured and ringed on the bird conservation island Langenwerder near Wismar. The island in Wismar Bay, which has been a nature reserve since 1937, is Mecklenburg's oldest seabird sanctuary. The continuances of many brood and migratory birds on the small Baltic Sea-island decrease. In the 1980s, 5,000 pairs of storm gulls were still breeding in Germany's oldest seabird sanctuary. This year it's still about 2,000. Photo: Jens Büttner/dpa-Zentralbild/dpa. - Langenwerder/Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania/Germany
