A 16-year-old boy drowned and died in a bathing lake in Simmerath (Aachen city region). The teenager had jumped into the body of water in the district of Rurberg on Saturday afternoon accompanied by a ten-year-old, according to a police spokesman. Both were apparently non-swimmers and threatened to sink. First responders managed to save the younger child, according to the spokesman. The 16-year-old was recovered lifeless from the water two hours later by divers. Photo: Vincent Kempf/dpa. - Simmerath/North Rhine-Westphalia/Germany
