The cutting of steel components for the planned viewing platform at the Königsstuhl - one of northern Germany's landmarks - began on the same day in Stralsund. Ostseestaal GmbH will mainly manufacture the floor plates of the walkway. According to Ostseestaal, the oval walkway will be 185 meters long. The steel construction is to have a load capacity of 163 tons, and up to 1100 guests are to be able to stay on the platform at the same time. Special steel will be used for the construction, which is particularly resistant to the weather on the Baltic Sea coast. Construction is scheduled to be completed in the summer of next year.
