Stock Photo - 31 August 2020, Brandenburg, Frankfurt (Oder): A tree of the gods (Ailanthus altissima) in a park. The Tree of Gods counts as an invasive species in Germany, just like the sunfish for example. From 01.09.2020, until 01.10.2020, the drafts of management measures for the widespread species of the 3rd Union list of the EU regulation ""Invasive Alien Species"" will be open to public consultation and comment. The aim of the measures is to repress the widespread and invasive alien animal and plant species occurring in the wild. With the globalisation of trade and the increase in worldwide tourism, more and more alien species are migrating from their original areas of distribution to new countries and ecosystems. If a species succeeds in establishing itself, reproducing strongly and spreading, this can have negative impacts on biodiversity and related ecosystem services, and possibly on human health and the economy.
