During the Action K 70 years ago the Communist regime destroyed monasteries. At the night of April 13-14, 1950, almost all monks from monasteries were expelled and moved out from their monasteries. Velehrad, a major place of pilgrimage, was one of the places hit by the Communist action. There were 25 Jesuits and 46 novices. The commemorative plaque, over two metres tall, was created by local sculptor Otmar Oliva, pictured. It was installed on the secondary school building.
