Stock Photo - A crowd of about 300 gathered before the Saint Ignatius of Loyla Church at the namesti 1. maje square in Chomutov at the beginning of the funeral of Martin Marcin, one of the three Czech soldiers who died in a suicide bomb attack in Afghanistan on August 5, today, on Tuesday, August 14, 2018. There were Marcin's friends, relatives and other soldiers, many of whom bringing flowers or lighting up candles at the commemorative site outside the church. The mourning ceremony is also attended by chief of staff Ales Opata. Marcin and the other two killed soldiers will be buried with military honours. Respecting the wish of the family, the media will not take part in the funeral in the church. All three men served at the mechanised battalion in Tabor, south Bohemia. The soldiers died while patrolling in the surroundings of the Bagram military base in the Parwan province. Last week, Defence Minister Lubomir Metnar (ANO) promoted all of them in memoriam. The other two soldiers will be buried on Thursday and Friday, respectively. (CTK Photo/Ondrej Hajek)
