Archaeologists discovered numerous containers as well as a cow hide raffia bag in the well. The objects were used to draw water from the well and are extremely sensitive and must be carefully stored. The well dates back to 5134 BCE and is one of the oldest wooded wells to have been discovered in Europe. The site is open to visitors on the 10 September 2017 as part of an initiative called Day of the Open Historical Site. Photo: Hendrik Schmidt/dpa-Zentralbild/dpa. - Großstolpen/Saxony/Germany
