Stock Photo - FILED - 15 November 2018, Saxony-Anhalt, Leuna: At TotalEnergies Raffinerie Mitteldeutschland GmbH in Leuna, crude oil flows through the above-ground pipelines into the refinery's distillation plant. The refinery of the French mineral oil group went into operation 25 years ago after a three-year construction period as the most modern of its kind in Europe and has been drawing crude oil via the so-called Druzhba route ever since. Around 12 million tons of crude oil are fed in annually, mainly from Russia, and processed into gasoline, diesel, heating oil, aviation fuel and methanol, among other products. The French oil giant has now announced that it will stop sourcing Russian crude oil for the Total refinery in Leuna by the end of 2022.
