As she opened the banana the sack opened and roughly couple of hundred. spiders escaped from the banana the spiders covered Gemma's arm she threw the banana up n the air, it down onto the bed spiders went everywhere covered her arm clothes bed and her son Leon was covered him and his cot She rang 999 police stated to evacuate the property went to her Mams her luckily lives across the road She contacted Asda Stanley they stated brig the bunch of bananas back for a refund, she then rang head office speak to Elliot from Leeds he stated to shake her clothes, he stated if he could jump in a car and help her he would Asda stated they would keep in contact with Gemma and nobody has been back touch. Asda stated to take the bananas back and get a refund with the spiders They said somebody would be back I touch and nobody did she contact fresh produce manager in Asda Head Office and they stated they were Costa Rican Bananas Gemma rang head office after she contacted environment health they contacted pest control they could not help as they were a foriegn species. Gemma asked who should she ring environmental health, she did not know who to ring Gemma stated should she ring spider specialist the her reply was good idea. Was not really sure what to do the. Asda contacted the specialist in Birmingham to get in contact and deal. Something needs to be in place in the area for this sort of thing happens again will be contacting Durham county council to discuss this further Gemma cannot express enough gratitude for the police and the way they have helped in this situation thank you The aftermath after the specialists have been and gone they have sprayed all around d the property pest co tell have not stated what pest co tell they have used Gemma have had to throw a lot of babies clothes in the bin.
